Maternity Pause Details

As some of you may know, I am having a baby! It's a very exciting time for my family & also a time for me to focus my energy inward, drawing it away from my tea business for a short time.
With that said, there is a PAUSE on tea orders that is currently happening as I need space to be fully present with my healing & baby.
Any order that comes in after March 19th will ship out early July! More updates will be sent out closer to the July date.
If you place an order after March 19th, you are agreeing to this timeline. If for some reason you need a refund for the order, please send me an email sip@annasteahouse.com & be patient with my response time :)
The First Forty Days &
My Transition to Mother
A deeper look into my maternity leave time.
One of the intentional practices I will be tapping into for my postpartum time will be the Ayurvedic tradition of the
First Forty Days
The First Forty Days is an Ayurvedic postpartum practice that centers the mother's healing after giving birth. The philosophy is that the more the village can hold & support the mother in these first few weeks, the more the baby will be supported (since baby really only needs mama). Part of this practice is spending 40 days inside the home to create a soft transition for baby into the world & a soft transition from maiden to mother for me. During this time, only cooked, warm foods are eaten as I heal from birth, focus on learning the art of breastfeeding & bond with my son. A close circle of family & dear friends will be there to support house chores & meals along with helping with grocery store runs & errands. When I learned about the First Forty Days in Ayurveda school 10 years ago, I knew in my heart, when my time came to be a mother, I wanted this nourishing experience. I am grateful to have such a supportive community that will hold our little family through the beginning of this huge life transformation.
In Ayurveda, it is said that
the First Forty Days after giving birth affects the next FORTY YEARS of a woman's health.
Some of the traditional practices that I will incorporate into this time are:
*Herbal Sitz Baths
*Abyangha Massage (self & with a massage therapist)
*Easy to digest, cooked, whole foods
*Easy to digest, cooked, whole foods
*Lots of ghee
*Warming spices in food (ginger, black pepper, fennel, cardamom)
*Staying WARM: cozy socks, heating pads, blankets
*Resting & bonding with baby
*Herbal Teas (Vata Digest Tea & 4th Trimester Tea Blend)
*No cooking/cleaning/chores
Thank you so much for your love, support, & blessings as our family brings in new life. <3
